Miss Natasha Enquist is a Professional Accordionist and Singer,
Actress and Model based in Berlin, Germany. Originally from
British Columbia, Canada, she studied classical piano as a child,
and voice and accordion since then, and has performed her way from
Canada to Walt Disney World, and over to Europe to progress with
her dreamy, dark, romantic sound of mixing electronic music with
her accordion chanteuse style.
She has had performance contracts with Walt Disney World, Heineken, and has recently had 4 of her original songs featured in the Berlin-based short film “The Birthday”, which has been selected for the 2015 Festival de Cannes "Festival Corner" Short Film Catalogue, the 2015 TGLFF - Torino Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, as well has been selected for the Shanghai-PRIDE Film Festival 上海骄傲电影节. She is best known for her cabaret twist on both new and old love songs, but is now focused on the style she calls "electro-accordion". Mixing electronic music with the accordion and her voice, she draws from her influences within electronic music and other artists like Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Goldfrapp, and shares attributes similar to, but not limited to, Lana Del Rey, Annie Lennox, and Grace Jones. Using the accordion in both traditional and non-traditional ways, Miss Natasha Enquist implements the accordions bellows, using the sensitivity of my internal pick-ups by capturing the sound of the air release, distorting and filtering melody and bass lines to sound like everything from a synthesizer to an electric guitar. This may not be your typical 'accordion' album, but it is using the instrument in more ways than one can imagine.
