The Magnetics

They are an Italian band formed in 2017 by the frontman Olly Riva, already leader of Shandon and Soulrockets. The Magnetics sound is a mix of vintage Jamaican sounds including SKA 60s, Rocksteady, early Reggae, but all in a frame Soul and Rhythm N Blues.

The first album (Vinyl + CD) "Jamaican Ska" released in 2017 for SET UP / SELF and has been reviewed and listened to almost all over the world and defined as a record of the year by many webzines and radio stations.

Within only two and a half years, The Magnetics have already exceeded 150 concerts and played in almost all of Europe, Ireland, Germany, France, Poland, Holland, Belgium, and there are concerts scheduled in South America in 2019.

The second album "Coffee & Sugar" (Vinyl + CD) was released in November 2018 for the prestigious Grover Records, a historic and very strong German label in the upbeat music industry.

The Magic Touch

The band started out back in 2006 as a side project of well-known German ska and reggae bands (Yellow Umbrella/Dresden; Solitos/Berlin). The four musicians have since established themselves as a unique live act with their own special blend of Rocksteady, Rhythm and Blues, Ska, heavy Early Reggae and DUB grooves with an edge: rough and tough! Soulful harmony vocals, bubbling organ riffs and fierce bass lines – in addition to energetic drums and a unique guitar sound – add up to a full and powerful sound. The original material shows remarkable individual character while effortlessly paying respect to the roots of Jamaican Music.

SYMARIP, SRANGER COLE, THE TENNORS, EARL 16, PRINCE ALLAH, WINSTON FRANCIS, THE MELODIANS, SUSAN CADOGAN, DAWN PENN, LUKIE D, CHRISTOPHER ELLIS or PAT KELLY work with the band and love their authentic and original sound!
