Sugar Candy Mountain’s Mystic Hits is a space-age blast of psychedelic pop and Tropicalia that sounds like it could have reverberated right out of Phil Spector’s echo chamber.

If Brian Wilson had dropped acid on the beach in Brazil and decided to record an album with Os Mutantes and The Flaming Lips, it would sound like this.

Recorded with Jason Quever of Papercuts, the bands sits comfortably between 60’s Laurel Canyon bliss and more modern production of Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips/Tame Impala).”

support: The Roaring 420s

With a jangly guitar sound like The Velvet Underground on anti-depressants, Germany’s The Roaring 420s have been stirring up some attention with their first album „What is Psych?“ (Stoned Karma Records) back in 2014. In the course, they have been touring Europe and the UK several times, as well as the US (e.g. SXSW) and Israel later (e.g. Ye’Arot Menashe Festival). They released their second album „You Can’t Get Out Alive“ on their freshly-founded own label It’s a Gas! Records in 2015. By now It’s a Gas! Records has grown to feature European releases by international artists such as The Blank Tapes (US), Sugar Candy Mountain (US) or Dor Koren’s Bigfoot (ISR).
