LatinArab

LatinArab is an event and a Dj live Set by Dj Edna Martinez (Colombia) and percussionist Romeo Natur (Germany / Palestina). This is a musical journey from Alexandria to Cartagena de indias, a melting pot of Oriental, Tropical, Afro- Caribbean and Latin Music. LatinArab live bring the finest musical selection with Latin Arabic percussion (Conga, Bongos, Darbuka and Djembe) making of this set an unique experience!

Edna Martinez grew up in Cartagena de Indias, in the colombian caribbean which influence her musical selection: African rhythms, Tropical sounds, Champeta, Cumbia, Latin and even Arabic folklore.

She went to the Academy of Arts Leipzig and is creator and manager of cultural projects like: “Prende la Vela” a celebration of Afro-Latin culture, “El Volcán, el Orgullo de Berlín" a night about Colombian Soundsytem Culture, ”LatinArab"a melting pot of Oriental, Tropical, Afro-Caribbean & Latin Music, and she is also co-founder of "Kréyol” a Dj collective that reflects all the variety of Tropical music. Edna Martinez is also a lover of records and a dancer. She lives and works in Berlin.
