We are fascinated by the fair atmosphere, its liveliness, the imaginative world full of wonder and bizarreness, with an overabundance of offers. It is a social celebration where people enjoy time together with friends and exchange ideas. It is a setting in which it is easy to discover new things. The fair is an artificial, creative world. Each artist is a co-creator of the entire experience. Many genres were developed here that are characterized by a high level of artistry and have a rich tradition, but often do not belong to the canon of „fine arts“. We would like to enter into a mutual exchange with some of the fairground genres, not just succumb to the fascination, but initiate a process that enables an exchange on an equal level for contemporary music and the respective opposing genre, such as artistry, magic, lantern projections and caricature painting gives both sides new impetus.

We begin the adventure with a short concert that takes you into the magical world of illusion and sleight of hand. Visitors can then stroll between various attractions, use tarot cards to navigate musical scenes from Berlin life, control musicians like marionettes, explore sound worlds on slot machines, discover new organ barrel music, and think of caricatures musically. They then meet together for the central performance “Juxtaposition”, which turns perception on its head with newly developed asymmetrical metal sculptures. After another tour, a program is presented that takes the Laterna Magica into the world of shadows, murmurs and dark bars, and concludes the journey.
