LIVE-Konzert: Adam Wendler & JPson bei Periplaneta

Eine einzigartige Stimme, eingängige Melodien, gefühlvolle Texte und anspruchsvolles Gitarrenspiel – das ist Adam Wendler. Wir freuen uns den Kanadischen Singer/Songwriter ein zweites Mal in unserem Literaturcafé begrüßen zu können.
Als Support hat er sich JPson eingeladen.

Adam Wendler:
Sein aktuelles Solo-Album ‘Never Go Unknown’ veröffentlichte der Kanadische Singer-Songwriter Adam Wendler im Juli 2017. Angereichert mit eingängigen Melodien und gefühlvollen Songtexten wird das Album von anspruchsvollem Gitarrenspiel untermalt, das an die 1960er erinnert und dennoch ein modernes Gefühl vermittelt.

Nach der Veröffentlichung des Albums im Juli tourte Adam ausgiebig durch Deutschland und Kanada. Die Auftritte erstreckten sich dabei von intimen Privatkonzerten bis hin zu großen Festivals, wie beispielsweise dem Open Flair. Adam gewann außerdem diverse Wettbewerbe, wie ‘Radioeins: The Next Big Thing’, den Neuköllner ‘Songslam’ und den Something For The People ‘Shure Newcomer Contest’.

Seine vielen Reisen bieten die Inspiration und Grundlage für Adam’s Musik. Auf ‘Never Go Unknown’ kommt seine Fähigkeit, großartige Songs zu schreiben mehr zum Ausdruck als je zuvor. ‘Jamsphere’ beschrieb das Album wie folgt: “Adam Wendler, however, seems like one of the brighter and distinctive propositions in his field – plenty of virtuoso acoustic picking and strumming and a line of sway-along balladry and upbeat foot-tapping that inspires not just murmurs of appreciation but full-blooded response. Add to that a full range voice that can reach for the higher notes with ease, and you’ve got something appetizing on your musical platter.”

Adams musikalische Hingabe ist unvergleichlich und er arbeitet derzeit an neuen Releases für 2018 und bereitet sich auf eine Deutschland Tour im April sowie eine Kanada Tour im Mai vor.

JPson:
Shaped by the two oceans on the shores of South Africa, JPson has ridden the wave of life to Europe and defined a musical style that can best be described as "Fresh Folk". Music that let’s you open up to the groove of the moment, whilst forgetting the troubles of daily life.

Having taught himself to play the guitar on the beaches of Cape Town, South Africa, JPson spent his youth surfing the Atlantic Ocean and exploring vast musical territory, yielding his very own sunbaked infusion of Folk & Roots music. Through his lyrics JPson shares the essence of life that drives him around the world and the lessons he learns whilst traveling. Not only is his music incredibly uplifting but his rhythms and beats will get you grooving in a festive and unifying spirit, bound to inspire reflection and new connection.

His latest EP “Coming Home” is the first official release of his musical career and expresses his belief: “Home Is where your heart is”. Coming from Swiss and South African background, JPson left South Africa right after school to go discover his European roots. What seemed like a 10 -month joy trip away from home turned into a 10-year journey around Europe, which JP refers to as his University of life.

Through his travels he realized on a regular basis how he would constantly find peace within musical melodies. Even though the life of a wary traveler can sometimes be extremely tiring, he would often gather warmth and support from the music he listened to and find guidance in the music he created. Guidance that taught him how to open up, to be happy and live life to the fullest as it is a wonderful gift that should be cherished with every single heartbeat.
