Born with facial deformities that, up until now, have prevented him from being comfortable in social situations preferably hiding his face behind an astronaut helmet, 10-year old Auggie enters a regular school to live an entirely normal young boy's life.

Writer-director Steve Chbosky made sure the theme of kindness in the YA novel "Wonder" carried over to the making of the heart touching movie adaptation with the meaningful message that it is not about outward appearance but about inward significance. The movie’s atmospheric musical score and soundtrack is well chosen and reveals a visual correspondence to some scenes and sequences of the storyline. The movie never crosses the line into kitschy and is deeply touching, which is also largely owed to the superb performances of the entire cast.
